La suerte está echada(The luck is tossed) (2005. Sebastián Borensztein) explores the theme of luck, more precisely, bad luck, through the story of two half brothers. The eldest, Philip (Marcelo Mazzarello) is an actor who helps avoid the suicide of a person who was considered to have bad luck, only to be hit by a truck. The youngest, William (Gaston Pauls), is fired from his job because of a car alarm that keeps him from sleeping, and then abandoned by his girlfriend. On top of all this, their father is on the verge of dying and delirious with a request that neither of them want to carry out.
